What Is Beard Oil?
Beard oil is a mix of carrier and essential oils used to keep the beard looking and feeling shiny, soft
and smooth. In addition to this a good beard oil also nourishes the skin under the beard. The beard
oil moistures the hair and prevents the hair from growing brittle, this helps with skin dryness,
itchiness and irritation of the skin under the beard.
The Beard Itch?
Why does your skin get itchy after growing your beard for roughly a month? As your hair gets longer,
the sebaceous glands (attached to your hair follicles) which release sebum, can’t keep up with the
amount of sebum oil needed to keep your beard soft and moisturised. When this happens, your
beard and more importantly your skin dries out and gets itchy. Our beard oil can act as a “helper” for
your sebum oil, making beard itch a thing of the past.
The dreaded dandruff for your beard, basically your skin gets so dry the skin begins to flake. This
causes the white specs of beadruff which appear on your clothes.
How does our beard oil help with this?
Our beard oil is made from:
Marula Oil – This oil is made from the fruit of the marula tree, native to Africa. It is a dry oil (absorbs
into skin easily), contains vitamins C and E as well as essential fatty acids which boosts cellular
activity, deeply hydrates and repairs the skin, all without leaving a residue.
Chamomile Extracts and Levomenol – Helps to calm down skin inflammation (helps with reduction
of razor bumps), stimulates collagen production and increases skin penetration of other ingredients.
Sandalwood and Frankincense essential oils – Our blend of essential oils give the combined benefits
of sandalwood and frankincense such as antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, emollient, healing and
reduction of scars or marks.
Our beard oilis non oily and can be applied daily (click to see more). It is generally recommended it is applied straight
after your shower as your pores are open then and allows the oil to be more easily absorbed.
How to apply?
Easy peasy…put some drops (number of drops is dependent on how much facial hair you have),
starting from a couple of drops into the palm of your hand. Rub it in from the base of beard or skin
and work it in to the ends of your beard. Once applied, you can use a beard comb or brush (if
needed) for the final grooming step.
