Warmer weather beckons and with that longer days and more outside activities. So this is a perfect time to think about jumpstarting your movement (read fitness) routine.
Let’s look at 3 tips to get started.
1) Crawl/Walk/Run - Start small. It is tempting when you think about walking out or exercising more; you want to try all the different things, schedule an activity every day and so on. Try to resist and start with one activity and build up from there, remembering to schedule in the all important rest days.
2) Form Over Everything - Taking time to learn the correct form when doing these exercises is extremely important. Not only do you work the correct muscles, but you also avoid injury. For example, you can watch a video on how to do a squat or getting a trainer to show you.
3) Progress not perfection - sometimes you may only have time to do half of your workout or you simply weren’t feeling it and “struggled” through it. Don’t beat yourself up about it, something is better than nothing, you won’t hit it out of the park every time.
